It's rodeo time! After the rodeo being closed for two years due to COVID, it was so nice to be back at the rodeo like good ol' times! The girls quickly toured the kids section (although they quickly outgrew this area!), then went to the agriculture area, then viewed all the rodeo art (wow, there are some amazing school aged artists), then off to the carnival, then off to the rodeo, then off to their very first concert - King and Country. The girls enjoyed all the typical carnival food including a corndog, fried cookie dough, fried oreos, corn, soft pretzels, and popcorn. It was a fantastically fun night all around!
Spring break was a blast!! We had a week long trip that was fun times from beginning to end. We kicked off our week visiting Brian and Cathy. We had cuisines from around the world and enjoyed their company. Then we traveled to Caprock Canyon and enjoyed a beautiful hike. We were so impressed with the landscape. We then met friends in Amarillo and stayed in a VRBO together and had the best time ever. We spent a day in Amarillo and successfully escaped an escape room. The kids also played laser tag and did a sky rope climb. We hiked for two days in Palo Duro and loved the scenery and activity. We came home through Fort Worth and visited the Stockyards as a pit stop to break up our trip. It was a perfect spot to rest for the night. All in all, we had an awesome spring break.
We were so happy to see our good friends Liz, Ron, and their sweet precious daughters Kate and Ellie. We love them all dearly and enjoy making memories with them each year. We enjoyed a night of BBQ, and Saturday we picked strawberries and went to the Bayou wildlife zoo. We topped off the night with a specialty pizza and milk shake restaurant. Sunday they joined us at church and we enjoyed some time in the afternoon at the park after some Tex Mex. We were just so happy to have time with our dear friends. We also had a wonderful visit with Aunt Dee and Uncle Mike and enjoyed a quick get together with them as well.
Poppy and Grammy visited for Easter and we had a great few days hanging out. We are so thankful that the grandparents on both sides are so involved and willing to spend so much time with the kids even though we are so far apart. We enjoyed many good dinners and lots and lots candy and dessert! The kids enjoyed activities such as jumping world, games, and shopping.
