September - October 2026

September brings all things school and busy schedules back into motion! Balancing the kids three various schedules, and both parents working full time that requires us to be gone for extended periods is a juggling act at best, but such a fun season in life too. September highlights include making our first mums for homecoming. We were so looking forward to this fun day with friends. It was everything we thought it would be and more - memories, fun, and overwhelming! We enjoyed some dinners out together and also celebrated Aubrey's birthday at the beach. The month seemed to fly by.

October, probably one of the most fun months of the year! We have so much to celebrate this month. We kicked off fall break with a trip to Raleigh, NC to visit our sweet friends Kate and Ellie, Liz and Ron. We all had a blast. Next up was the girl's birthday, then homecoming and we finished the month with Halloween. It is always a full month of fun.

Aubrey and Avery turned 15 this year! We went to Gringos Tex Mex for dinner after opening birthday presents. Avery celebrated her birthday with a cake decorating party with friends which was a lot of fun. New this year was adding the festivities associated with Homecoming. I was so excited to jump on the 'mum making tradition' for homecoming and we had so much fun making fantastic mums and memories. They wore them on Friday to school then to the football game. The following evening on Saturday was Homecoming dance. Aubrey had a friend date with Chelsea, and they did a fun proposal. Aubrey organized a fun dance with friends for Chelsea and her friend did a proposal based on McDonald's Berry Blast (her favorite drink) and then fries and made fries that were things she loved about their friendship. Overall, the girls had a great time getting dressed up and spending the evening with friends making good memories.

We wrapped up the month with Halloween. We continued our pumpkin carving tradition. We look forward to it every year and each time I'm so impressed with how the pumpkins turn out so awesome. For Halloween, Aubrey was dressed as Aurora, Avery was dressed as Jasmine (all their friends went as Disney princesses) and Ky'Leigh dressed up as a dinosaur. They all had fun going around the neighborhood with friends and getting tons and tons of candy - what is not to like?!

So many fun memories and so many more to come!
