May - June 2018

It is hard to believe that kindergarten has come and gone already. The girls had a great year and loved their teachers, being with friends and learning. They are very fortunate to attend a great elementary school that literally is just around the corner.
We kicked off the summer with tons of fun. The girls have already been to two camps (gymnastics and VBS) and had a week with both sets of grandparents! I would say that they have had a pretty busy summer so far. More fun to come!

May 2018:

Mother's Day Celebration: The girls had me spoiled from beginning to end and Jay treated me like a queen too! We were able to do a nice dinner out when the girls had a drop-off birthday party on Saturday and then Sunday we had a great family. It started off with breakfast in bed, prepared 100% by the kids, cards and crafts in bed, and then we all got fancy for church. We enjoyed donuts at church and cupcakes when we got home. We spent the afternoon in the pool and the evening eating pizza and wings watching a family movie together. At the end of the evening we were able to tell them about our exciting surprise of going to Disneyland in August. All in all, it was a wonderful celebration. This momma went a little picture crazy!
It goes without saying that I miss my mom dearly, especially on important holidays such as these, but I know without a shadow of a doubt that she is looking down from Heaven, grinning from ear to ear seeing what a wonderful life we have and how happy and healthy everyone is. We are blessed beyond measure.

School Field Trip to the Houston Zoo:

Sugarland Skeeter's Baseball Game: Jay wanted to go to a baseball game for Father's day. If you know us well, you know we have crazy schedules. This was the only game that worked with our schedules, so whether it was a month early or not, we still celebrated!

Aubrey is Going Public: Aubrey made the decision to be baptized back in January and talked with our children's pastor and we knew that she fully understood this next step in her walk. After multiple busy months, we were able to witness this beautiful event and it is a feeling that makes the mommy and daddy heart so full and proud.  We are so thankful for their choices to follow after Christ and we pray that they will continue to walk in His ways.

Joel and Leah Got Married!! We are so excited to welcome Leah into the family. We all love her to pieces. Here are some great photos from the rehearsal and the wedding. It was absolutely a beautiful wedding - perfect in every way. The girls had a blast and really enjoyed being flower girls.

June 2018:
Fun Family Times:

Father's Day: Jay is the best daddy in the world. Despite his crazy hectic work life, he always gives his best to the kids. He makes them a priority and gives them his attention when they see him in the evenings and weekends. The girls are so lucky to have such an honorable daddy who loves them so much in their lives. I'm thankful for it every day. Daddy got a croquet set for playing games outdoors and homemade designed platters from the kids. His day was topped off with cannoli's from a very special bakery in NY, courtesy of Sharon.

Visit with Poppy and Grammy: We are so excited to welcome Sharon to the family. Dad and Sharon got engaged in June and will be getting married in October of this year. We have all fallen in love with Sharon, whom we now can call Grammy! They got to spend a week with us in June. Despite it being full of rain, we made lots of good memories.
We also were spoiled by a visit from Aunt Dee Dee and Uncle Mike. They were traveling the country in their RV and they included us in one of their destinations! The girls enjoyed this first overnight in an RV which was complete with playing at the pool, glamour night, and smores!

Visit with Nana and Grandpa: The girls got a long visit with Nana and Grandpa having fun every day! We were blessed that Jay and I could go on vacation while the grandparents held down the fort at home. The girls got to go to a play, hang out at Kemah, spend time at the pool, make bracelets, and as a family we all went to a new science museum and baseball game. The kids sure do get out!

Pictures from our trip in Ivins, Utah (near Zion): Jay and I were able to spend 5 days in Utah doing exactly our favorite thing: hiking! We have always loved hiking but the type of hiking we enjoy is not 6 year old kid friendly! We had a great hike every day, some bike rides, some relaxation and enjoying some really good food too. It was nice to spend some time together as a couple and enjoying a hobby we don't get to do to often. This side of the country was absolutely gorgeous.
