November - December 2021

November has been an usually busy month. The big excitement was mostly around two weekends in a row of tent camping. The first weekend with was their AHG troop at Camp Mohawk. Here the kids slept outdoors in 40 degree weather and prepared all their meals and set up/tore down camp. They also earned their badge in fire safety and fire building. The girls learned a lot about camping on this trip. Next up was camping with Awanas which was a family based camping trip. What great friends and so much fun being out in nature all day long.  Less work overall but still just as cold! The kids had a blast in every way.

November flew by because it was ol' so busy! Thanksgiving week was a much needed week to slow down and rest. Unfortunately, Avery was sick with a virus, but I'm glad she got to recuperate at home. We all enjoyed Thanksgiving and a week with Nana and Grandpa. We checked out NASA for the first time and saw their winter lights as well. Another favorite day of the week was celebrating daddy turning 41. We love Jay so much in our family. We are so thankful for all he does and all who he is.

December brings all the celebrations! The kids had a week straight of Christmas parties...it is good to be a kid! This year the kids built gingerbread houses in Grandma's memory (on her birthday) and gingerbread trains with friends. Jay and I were both so fortunate to have a lot of time off around Christmas to do family activities and then spend time with both sets of grandparents. The kids enjoyed their first Cirque de Sol show (Allegria) and we had fun going to the festival of light and magical winter lights. The kids had a blast in two different escape rooms, one with each set of grandparents. They also enjoyed arts and crafts during the visits. It was so good to have family together, especially during this crazy time of COVID.

We have so much to be thankful for. 2021 started out as a rough start but definitely ended on a high note. God has blessed us as a family far more than we can imagine. We continue to pray for his hedge of protection in the near year.
