July went by quick! Something about summer and having fun! The kids had a great balance between camps, relaxation, and visiting with family for the summer. At the very end of July, Avery got COVID, but thankfully she had a mild case and the rest of us remained asymptomatic and negative. We were so thankful for the mild course.
In August, we celebrated my 40th birthday! Phew, that is OLD! I am so blessed to have the most amazing family and circle of friends. We also traveled to PA to visit Nana and Grandpa and Joel, Leah, and Phoenix. We were very excited to meet Phoenix for the first time. We had tons of adventures including visiting Philadelphia (Independence Hall and the Betsy Ross House), Hershey Park, Crystal Cave, the Mennonite Farm, Hawk Mountain in addition to some other beautiful hikes in the Poconos, and time hanging out as a family. During our visit we got professional photos which captured a lot of great shots!
The girls started 4th grade this year. Avery has Mrs. Barton as her teacher and Aubrey has Mrs. Pool and Mrs. Gulliedge. They are looking forward to a great year and we hope they love their last year in elementary school. The kids continue in American Heritage Girls and Awanas for the fall. They continue to be the lights of Jay's and my life.
