March kicked off to be fun and busy! We started with a bang and had a great time at Rodeo Houston with our close friends. We saw some amazing art, animals, the rodeo, and Lauren Daigle in concert. Don't forget fried cookie dough! All in all, it was a great night.
The kids look forward to the Awana Derby Car Race each year. Jay does an amazing job with helping the girls make the cars the way they want them. Avery did a lot of research to determine how to make hers the fastest car. Mission accomplished...she was fastest in her age group and fastest overall. Aubrey had a different goal in mind, she wanted to be the slowest. This actually is challenging not only for design, but it needs to cross the finish line or it is disqualified. She was thrilled to be awarded the slowest derby car and was surprised to also be chosen as the crowd favorite. Both girls came home with two trophies. What a morning!
Next up was spring break week. We went on a 7 day cruise (Carnival Vista) which had stops in Cozumel, Belize, and Honduras. In Honduras we had a beach day and the girls absolutely loved it. They got their first massages on the beach too! In Belize, we went ziplining and river tubing. It was a lot of fun. In Cozumel, we went to the mainland and did a sensory museum which was wild. Some of the highlights were ziplining like a bird and going in a mud lazy river! All in all, it was a great trip and we all had a blast.
The best part of April was celebrating our Risen Lord. I was thankful to be off the holiday and to enjoy it with family. Nana and Grandpa visited during school break to celebrate Easter too. As always, the kids and grandparents (hahaha) had a fun time. Easter we had Aimee and Tessa in addition to grandparents, so it was a wonderful time. The kids all dyed/painted Easter eggs, jumped on the trampoline, and of course we stuffed ourselves silly too. The kids enjoyed Easter baskets from us and both sets of grandparents. There is no doubt that they are plenty spoiled!
The kids enjoyed another camping trip for AHG in April and had multiple sleepovers and parties to attend. They surely are not hurting for fun! Aubrey still loves her PAWS club at school. They both are enjoying CITY club and Avery has been working hard recently on her quilt for TPSP. Avery had another weekend with the class guinea pig. She did a great job caring for him and the girls loved the extra pet in the house. We are almost ready to wrap up another school year, it is hard to believe. Summer, here we come!
