September - October 2021

September started with a bang....literally! We started a remodeling project in the house and we are so excited to see the finished product (and for all the noise to leave my house!). We are redoing the master bathroom, master closet, kitchen, utility room and creating a mudroom. Let's hope we can better utilize our space and enjoy some new luxuries -  like a place to put shoes and backpacks!
Over the Labor Day holiday, Jay and I escaped to Fredricksburg and met Brian and Cathy. We had a great trip all around. Great time together, great time with family, great laughs, hiking, beautiful scenery and accommodations, and all around fun. Grammy and Poppy held the fort down at home with the kids and they had a great time playing games, enjoying good food, and being spoiled.
In September, we started house construction. It was loud, it was noisy, and it was messy! We learned how to all live upstairs for 6 weeks and made the best of it. In the end, we are very excited about the increased functionality and how pretty it turned out. House renovation for the win!
October is one of our favorite months. Guess who we celebrate over and over again?! Hahaha. We are so thankful that we have Aubrey and Avery in our lives and I hope that every year they know how much they are loved and cherished. Reaching double digits this year! We all survived a sleepover with 10 girls! Phew that was fun! It was complete with canvas painting, clay modeling, pinata, donut eating from mid air, movies, and lots in between. In other news, Harley also turned one in October!
Halloween weekend was a busy weekend. We kicked it off by staying overnight in the Lone Star Flight Museum. The girls learned a lot about aviation and earned an AHG badge. They slept under the wing of a WWII aircraft. The following day they attended a pumpkin carving party with friends. Their pumpkins turned out awesome. For Halloween this year, Aubrey was a cheerleader zombie. She pulled it off well. Avery decided to wanted to stay home and hand out candy. They both had a great time. It was a great ending to October.
