March - April 2021

March brought beautiful weather which we were longing for after the artic blasts! We welcomed spring break and a chance to get away. We went to Lake Travis in Austin with friends for a few days. We loved our time with the friends and family - we all had a blast. We returned home to spend a wonderful day with our favorite neighbor's Pam and John. We visited a wonder park with lots of fun things for the kid and John took the kids out on a kayak. It was a wonderful day. Other highlights were picking up 7 chick eggs which we hope will hatch near Easter. We are all very excited to  watch them hatch and take care of them. We will take care of them for a week or so then return them to a farm. We also enjoyed spending time with foster puppies. We hope to volunteer so we can socialize the puppies and help take care of them. We also had a great mix of shopping, eating, and relaxing. We had sleepovers in our beds every night we were home. I wish I could capture those days in a bottle.

April is here which brings spring weather and Easter! Poppy and Grammy came to visit for Easter and we had a great few days together. We had a great time together eating lots of great food, spending time with Tessa, going on shopping sprees, and celebrating our Risen Lord. Aunt Aimee, Uncle Israel, and Tessa joined us for an Easter celebration and we had a perfect patio weather and the most delicious brisket prepared by the one and only "daddy." It was so nice having the family together, all vaccinated after distancing for so long. The weekend was quick, but we sure had a great time.

In April we enjoyed daughter date days. Avery was with daddy and they did a virtual escape room, played video and board games and went on an ice-cream date. Aubrey and I had the day together shopping, going to the candy store, getting pedicures, and watching a movie. At the end of the evening we all enjoyed Gringos. Yummy! It was a great day for all of us. Hopefully we will be able to swap dates next month.

Our chicks hatched, we had 5 in total: Cleo, Daisy, Pixie, Dixie, and Peep. They were pretty cute and smelly! The kids did great taking care of them for the first 10 days before they transitioned to the farm. We really enjoyed this experience overall.
