Sixth grade is in full swing and we are getting into our routines. Aubrey's favorite part of 6th grade is chamber choir. She sings day in and day out. Avery's favorite part of 6th grade is math club and FPS along with a team of great teachers. This month we kicked off CITY (Christians in the Youth at Sablatura Middle School) and the girls are on the leadership team. The girls also continue in American Heritage Girls and Awana/Small Groups, and started volleyball clinics.
The girls turned 12 in October this year. They are officially pre-teens! The girls had such great birthday parties each tailored to their own likes and circle of friends. Aubrey had a backyard party with a 22ft water slide, the trampoline, and 4 square and loved that fact that she could invite as many friends as she wanted to. She had her two closest friends sleepover which was a lot more manageable, and everyone had a good time. Avery had a painting party at the Rustic Brush. It was so good to meet many of her friends and all of their artwork turned out so good. The highlights were Aubrey getting a new vanity for her room and Avery getting a new iPad.
Trick or Treat! The kids made great costumes this year. Aubrey was a Starbucks pink drink with whipped topping (her friends were other drinks) and Avery was a Starbucks barista. As always, we had fun walking around trick or treating. The girls also both enjoyed the monster bash. Aubrey dressed up as a bumble bee and Avery dressed up as a cowgirl. This year we really mastered the art of carving pumpkins. I was so impressed with ourselves!
