November - December 2019

November and December translates to lots of holiday fun in our house. We start our holiday baking early in November and bake throughout the entire season (we love to make Christmas cookies). We decorate for Christmas mid-November and it is very special setting up my mom's Christmas Santa and Snowbaby collection each year. The holidays also bring lots of fun activities and visits from both families. We have a lot to be thankful for during this season.
For Thanksgiving, we were so lucky to have my whole family together. It is a special treat to have everyone together in one place. The girls love all the attention and fun too. Highlights were watching Frozen 2, the Polar Express, Thanksgiving dinner (hosted by Aimee and Israel), and a BBQ day complete with Jay's first try at home brewing beer (his birthday gift).
The girls enjoyed their Christmas parties at school, pajamas day/Polar Express day, and all the other fun activities associated with  the holidays. We sure do love our Elementary school.
In December we went on a mini staycation to the Woodlands. It was our opportunity to getaway as a family for a short bit. Just leaving our normal routine was so refreshing. We went to 'ifly' which is an indoor skydiving experience. It was quite the adventure. Aubrey loved it. Avery doesn't need to go back! In the evening we went to Dewberry Farms which was a new destination for us. The kids had an absolute blast. They had lots of fun activities for older kids which was perfect. We went on a long wagon ride to see Christmas lights too which was really pretty. We enjoyed our family time together and then some one on one time with each kid in the afternoons as well.
We round out the year with a Christmas visit from both sets of grandparents. We are always so lucky to have their company and presence in their lives and in our own. They had so many fun times ranging from seeing a venue with Christmas lights, to carnivals, to movies, to manicures and pedicures, and everything in between. We all had a wonderful Christmas celebration. 2020 here we come!

Here are some attempts for Christmas card pictures! I was very excited to show off the skirts I sewed for us girls and be all matching!

Christmas Pictures with Santa 2019:

Happy Birthday Gramma/Mom: We miss you so much. In your memory, we continue to make gingerbread houses for your birthday.  This year we made our first gingerbread house from scratch. It is the start of a new era.

iFLY: Wow, what an experience! Simulated sky diving.

Christmas Eve and Christmas Day 2019: I love, love, love celebrating Christmas with my family. The activities that lead up to Christmas, such as decorating, Christmas activities, baking cookies, shopping for presents, making reindeer food, getting a new set of Christmas pajamas, Christmas Eve Eve service at church, and so much more, are icing on the cake for the actual day itself. This year you set up a very craft trap to catch Santa. It was really genius! You had directions to lead him upstairs to the cookies and milk and he would hit his head on a bell so you would wake up and see him. You also left out tons of glitter so he would leave a big Christmas glitter mess...Hahaha! I loved every minute of seeing this all come together.
