September - we are back into the swing of things with school and all the activities. The schedule is perfect with a number of activities yet enough time for rest each week. I think we have the perfect balance, at least for now! The kids have been doing awesome in school and adjusting so well to all the new things that come with being a middle schooler. They continue to get all A's and just remind us each day how gifted and talented they really are. Aubrey was selected to be in a club called "PAWS" which is pets, animals, water, and soil. She really loves it. The kids are both part of CITY club which is a Christian club every other Friday morning. Avery is doing well in her highly gifted math program this year too.
We enjoyed another visit with Grammy and Poppy over the Labor Day holiday. The girls and cousin Tessa enjoyed a day at a new craft shop where they all made some really nice projects. Grammy took the three girls shopping and they all came home with some fun items. We tried our best at Bingo, but unfortunately no winners. We were also thankful to spend some time with Aunt Aimee and Uncle Israel (and of course Tessa) for a meal too!
We celebrated Aubrey's birthday early because she wanted a large sleepover and I really needed Jay to be able to help pick up dinner/breakfast, and do all the other random things like hanging donuts from the swingset! She pulled off another great party. She had a mystery theme with scavenger hunts and solving mysteries. She has a great group of friends and we enjoyed having them. We celebrated Avery's birthday with an escape room and pizza for dinner and ice cream cake for dessert. The kids escaped "The Heist" with 1 minute and 10 seconds remaining! The girl also picked their favorite dinner place for their birthday - one was sushi and one was hibachi. It was great celebrating the girls separately this year and made the celebrations last all month! Aimee and Israel and Tessa also celebrated with us at Grace Pizza for dinner. Needless to say, the birthday celebrations continued all month!
The kids went to their first school dance, the Monster Bash and dressed up as M&Ms. We all made it to the pumpkin patch for our annual pumpkin patch pictures (the only year we are missing was 2021). And then finished off the month with a great night of trick of treating. Who doesn't love candy?! Halloween was so much fun. They went with their friends Chelsea and Ella. Aubrey was a chocolate chip cookie to match with her friend Ella as cookies and milk, and Avery was an M&M to match with her friend Chelsea. They were all pretty delicious looking! I love October, definitely my favorite month of the year!
