May - June 2019

Just like that, we have two kids who completed first grade and heading off to second grade in just a few months! I feel like once kids hit school age, the days, weeks and months really do fly by. The girls both had a great school year and we are so proud of them for not only their academics but for their conduct and character at school. Both girls enjoyed dance over the spring semester and have kept up with their homework for Awanas each week, which typically entails memorizing several verses per week. We celebrated Cinco de Mayo and Mother's day in May...What fun! We finished our month  with a great ending, visiting our life long friends Liz and Ron and their beautiful girls Kate and Ellie. Liz's mom has a very special place in my heart as well and I'm just beyond blessed that I got to visit them all in May.
For Father's day we had had our first family golfing outing. The girls made it all 9 holes. We all hit off the tee and then we took the best ball to finish off the hole. We enjoyed our tradition of enjoying BBQ at Killen's, playing at the pool, watching a movie, and enjoying an Italian dinner. We are all so spoiled by Jason and so thankful for everything he does for our family.
Jay and I are celebrating our 15 year anniversary (a bit early this year) and we went to Puerto Rico together while Poppy and Grammy held down the fort at home. We had a great time hiking in the rain forests, doing some night kayaking, relaxing on some beautiful beaches and just having some good quality time together. The kids were spoiled with love and fun at home and we are so thankful for the grandparents help.

Mother's Day 2019:

Last day of 1st grade: First grade was great in every way. The kids loved their teachers and their classmates. It is so fun to see how much they learn from month to month. Aubrey got awards in reading and the Citizenship award and Avery got award in Math.

Visit to Raleigh, NC to visit life long friends: We love visiting our friends in Raleigh. Old friendships are treasures and now our kids get to be close friends too which is a double blessing. Every year we walk away with some great memories. I'm so thankful for spending time with all of them, and sweet Ellie has a special place in my heart as my God-daughter.

Father's Day 2019

Visit with Poppy and Grammy and Anniversary Trip to Puerto Rico: Jay and I were able to celebrate 15 years of marriage (a little early) and make some great memories in Puerto Rico. We had a wonderful time hiking, golfing, mini-boating to uninhabited islands, and checking out Old San Juan. Poppy and Grammy held down the fort at home and spoiled the girls for us. We celebrated Poppy's birthday and Father's day for everyone as well during the visit.
