January was a nice relaxing family month. We got to slow down after the holiday rush and have some weekends together to slow down and enjoy life. Some highlights were: AHG award ceremony where the girls earned 13 or 14 badges over the last two sessions, seeing our old friends Pam and John for a visit, having fun days at school like "career day" (Aubrey was a vet and Avery was a teacher), and celebrating Aimee and Tessa's birthdays. Every year in January and February the girls and Jay work hard on derby cards for Awanas. They sure have been busy and I can't wait to see how they do in the race. Aubrey is going for the slowest car and is making a banana split ice cream derby car and Avery is going for fastest car and has a sleek and slim design. Good daddy daughter memories.
February we were in for another freeze, but thankfully it was not as intense as last year's freeze. The kids did enjoy a day off from school though and as always had plenty of fun. We celebrated Tessa's birthday (a little late) and went to a painting store. All three kids had a blast. I even painted a project which didn't turn out too shabby! I love spoiling the girls (who knew!) and valentines day is no exception! Always a reason to love on my daughters!
This year was TWOSDAY 2/22/22. The girls dressed up as twins (for the first time in a long time!) for Twosday. I have to admit they are pretty darn cute! Next up was the Awanas Grand Prix Derby car races. For the first time, the girls both placed! It was a very exciting day. Aubrey got 1st place in her age group for design. She made a banana split derby car. Avery got 2nd place overall for fastest car, losing by just around 0.5mph (just a hair!). They had a lot of fun making them with daddy and of course racing them on grand prix day.
