November - December 2024

November brought in tons of fun and memories. We celebrated lots of birthday parties! First up was Aubrey who had a volleyball party with her friends. We gathered at the volleyball court where Aubrey and her friends had a great time playing volleyball and eating snacks. We then came back to the house for pizza, cake, and presents. Her two best friends then spent the night and they partied into the weeeeee hours of morning! Next up was a suprise bday party for Jay. We brought him to a local brewery with many of his friends. We served lots and lots of pizza and cake. It was a fun evening and he definitely was suprised. Mission accomplished! Next up was Avery's bday party. She invited a lot of friends to see the movie "Wicked" in theaters after having fun, pizza, and cake at the house. It was a fun evening. Last but not least we celebrated Jay again by planning a family get away in Brehnam, TX. We went to a ranch: Milk and Honey Ranch. It was a beautiful property with lots of animals, fun, great weather and memories!
Avery is on the basketball team and Aubey is basketball manager. It has been a lot of fun watching the games and seeing how the team has gotten better each game. Aubrey is enjoying her role as manager with her friend. Aubrey is also doing cross country. She only has two meets, but in her first meet she did awesome and shaved almost a minute off her time for the mile race. Both are working hard in sports. Both made the mini club  team too which starts in December. It has been fun watching the girls perform in sports this school year.
It was the perfect getaway to kick off our Thanksgiving break. Next up was celebrating Thanksgiving with Nana and Grandpa. The kids had a blast with shopping, watching Moana 2, mini golfing, a new activity called Activate and lots more. It was another great visit in the books!
This year we decided to cut down our first live Christmas tree. It was something I was really looking forward to for creating memories. Up north, we are used to the Douglus furs and blue spruce options, here in Texas they have pine trees. So we decided to do it the Texas way, cut down a pine and bring home a tree that is bigger than the size of Texas (because everything is bigger in Texas). It was quite the experience loaded with memories and work! We also made Christmas cookies, Christmas crack, hot cocoa and watched a movie before bed. It was the perfect Christmas prep day.
December was pretty busy with all things school related until school release late December. We enjoyed a Winter Choir Concert at the school, white elephant gift exchange with friends, Christmas lights, and plenty of Christmas movies. We had a relaxing ending to the year and the best part was of course Christmas day. The kids make all things more special and I was so grateful to be home from work to be with them all. We kicked off a final horah for the year with a special trip to Louisville and to visit the Ark Encounter and Creation Museum as a quick getaway to launch off the new year.
2024 was a blessed, abundant, rich in love and memories kind of year. Praying for many blessings over 2025.
