Who doesn't love a new beginning? January 2026 here we come! After a wonderfully long Christmas break, we had to reboot back to the school schedule which includes lots of homework and busy extracurricular schedules between basketball, cheer, volleyball, church activities, retreats, and other commitments. We sure do keep a full schedule! We also are keeping to the commitment of at least monthly date nights for us as a couple. We started this back in September and we want to continue to live this out in the upcoming year.
We were excited for the possibility of snow mid January, but it didn't amount to anything except a little bit of cold weather. However, we were so thankful not to lose power:) And of course, we somehow still had off from school despite having zero weather issues! We also experienced a tornado like storm with 85mph winds that surrounded our neighborhood causing damage to many people's properties. Thankfully, we were all ok except losing our trampoline. Phew, what a month of weather!
February we just continued with our full and bless lives! One weekend Aubrey went to church winter camp and had a blast while Avery also had a blast doing her thing - basketball districts and a volleyball tournament. They both attended a neighboring church winter weekend over Valentine's Day weekend and had a blast. They did plenty of 'galentines' day activities with friends and then we celebrated on them after they returned. K had a one-on-one day with us for Valentine's day and we went shopping, watched a movie at the theater, went on a bike ride and she got to pick her favorite meals all day. Jay and I enjoyed a very special sushi date night on Friday and then enjoyed a very delicious homecooked meal of sea bass and lobster on the actual day. Overall, Valentine's weekend was quite beautiful and blessed.
January and February were restful months - we will take a restful season! We don't have many pictures but it sure was filled with goodness, love, and blessings. In other news, Isaiah 1:17 House for Brazoria County is getting close to open it's red door! The girls spent some time to serve building a playhouse for the kids who will come to the Isaiah House. Love their heart.
