January - Feburary 2017

Happy 2017. Looking forward to another year, making memories as a family and building our faith.
January and February were two months stacked with good family fun! I wouldn't trade these days for the world. In January we enjoyed a visit from both sides of the family and in February we thoroughly enjoyed a much needed vacation on a cruise! What a great way to start 2017!

January 2017:
Happy New Year! Jason rang in the new year with the girls on New Year's Eve while I was working. It sounded like a great time, complete with sparkling cider! We continued our tradition of making a new homemade pasta. I was skeptical at first, but I think we hit a homerun. It was homemade ravioli with an egg on the inside with homemade tomato sauce. The girls were really eager to help this year and had fun with us.

More fun times in January:

Poppy and Uncle Brian Visit for Aunt Aimee and Tessa's birthdays: We had a great visit with Poppy and Uncle Brian to celebrate two very special birthdays. Brian is now officially a Texas resident (about 6 hours away) and we are so excited that we will get to see him more. The girls surely love parties...it is hard not to right?!? Poppy got to go to his first basketball game and was fortunate enough to see more dance (hahaha!). We are looking forward to our next visit!

Vacation Time!!: We are off....on a cruise! We tried our first Carnival cruise and we were pleasantly surprised. We really enjoyed the Dr. Seuss family activities, especially the green eggs and ham breakfast. We enjoyed all our stops with two days at the beach in Cozumel and Roatan (near Honduras). Jay and I enjoyed a day in Belize touring the Mayan Ruins and feeding wild monkeys in a natural forest while the girls enjoyed kid's camp on the boat. All in all, it was perfect in every way.

Valentine's Day 2017: I'm very lucky to have three very special valentines in my life. Jay and I enjoyed lots of date nights on the cruise and enjoyed a night of fondue on Valentine's day. We started off the day with kolaches and donuts. Yummy. I was excited to join the girls at their school party. Their smile's are a good indication of how much they enjoy holidays!

See you next month!
