July was a restful month after having a very busy June. Aubrey started the month off with a church camp and had a blast at Camp Tejas with friends. Unfortunately, she came home with quite the upper respiratory infection, but it was perfect timing for low-key days that followed. Both Avery and Aubrey are soaking up the middle of the summer relaxation and know that it is not long before they will be in the daily routine of school again with an early start at the high school. Avery and Ky'Leigh enjoyed their time celebrating the 250th Independence Day while Aubrey was at camp and mom was at work.
July is always a special month for Isaiah House because it is Lemonade Weekend. As committee chair, it is a sweet and busy weekend. We surpassed our goal of 30 stands and am so thankful for the awareness it brings to the community and the money it brings in to support Isaiah 117 House.
We all enjoyed another visit with Nana and Grandpa. We did our favorite things-hung out, ate good food, shopped, played board games, and laughed! It was a great visit.
August is a great month - although I am partial because it is my birthday and anniversary in the same month! I definitely am blessed to have such a wonderful family who loves me and spoils me so much on my birthday. We enjoyed trying a new project today - concrete mosaics, played pickle ball, played poker, enjoyed watching Avery play at a volleyball tournament and then finished the day by enjoying a tasty dinner of sushi with Aunt Aimee, Uncle Israel, and Tessa. It was a perfect ending to the birthday weekend. I also enjoyed some great self-care for the week and lived my best life!
Next up was the Prayer for Schools Prayer Walk. This annual prayer walk definitely is something God has laid on my heart and it reminds me each year how much we need prayer for our staff and students and Christian clubs in our schools. Lord please protect our schools in this upcoming school year - maybe you be present in every hallway and every classroom. This year during the prayer rally Aubrey shared her story how CITY club impacted her in school. We are ever so proud of her boldness and faith.
Nothing like the first day of school - good memories every year! This year Aubrey and Avery are entering High School - 9th grade. Ky'Leigh is in third grade and remains in her elementary school. Everyone had a great first day and I loved hear all about their classes and teachers etc. So much fun and excitement! Let's hope the energy lasts all year!
